Tornadoes tore through the Dallas-Fort Worth area this afternoon, tossing tractor-trailers, cancelling flights and causing widespread damage to buildings.
The National Weather Service confirmed at least two separate “large and extremely dangerous” tornadoes, according to CBS News.
One tornado was on the ground just five miles east of downtown Dallas.
Severe damage was reported in Arlington, where the mayor of the city signed a disaster declaration to help cope with the destruction.
A tornado watch remains in effect for much of north-central Texas.
No major injuries have been reported so far, but affected areas are still being searched for people who may be trapped.
