Every Summer under the hot sweat inducing sun of Northwest Arkansas local sports bar & grill joints kick it up a notch.
Welcome to Wingfest a mouth watering event that offers everything from a child play center to a live band. As the Mojo Doctors rocked the stage people poured in the gates to try out exotic flavored wings from a number of vendors located throughout the region. The event is not just a place to try otherwise non existent wings, like the Cinnamon Delight wings from Eureka Pizza, but also a place to raise money for the 7 Hills Homeless Center.
Bikers Against Child Abuse were also in attendance to give away the eye popping Voodoo Chopper, a motorcycle that reaches “about an eight or nine on a scale of one-to-ten” said Wildman of BACA.
The sweltering day was calmed by a crisp and serene dusk that offered the perfect atmosphere for the Wingfest: Wing Eating Contest. This performance of speed gluttony was the co-main event with the headlining attraction being the contest of best wing in Northwest Arkansas competition.
The returning 2 time pound for pound champion Beef O’Bradys showed up sporting shirts that signified their confidence in winning it again this year. The “Hottest Wing” was awarded to Foghorn’s they by far schooled the competition, with a wing so hot you have to be of legal age and wear safety gloves before consuming. “The Most Exotic Wing” went to Beef O’ Bradys and the Judges Choice for best wing went to Lucky Luke’s BBQ. But the award everyone came out to vote for was the People’s Choice Best Overall Wing. Who beat the others to achieve drummette prominence? That answer is Beef O’ Bradys the now three time champions, they succeed where the LA Lakers could not. Ohhh low blow! Just could not resist that one.
