Diamond Hogs to host Fayetteville regional of NCAA Baseball Tournament

Postseason college baseball is set to return to Baum Stadium this weekend for regional action as the Arkansas Razorbacks were granted the opportunity to host the Fayetteville Regional in this years NCAA Baseball Tournament. The Razorbacks, who are ranked number 15 in the nation, will host a regional for the fifth time in school history since the tournament went to regional format and are making their 23rd overall appearance in the tournament.

The Hogs enter the tournament with a 40-18 overall record and will welcome Grambling State (22-30), Washington State (34-20), and Kansas State (36-20) into Baum Stadium this weekend. The Razorbacks first opponent will be Grambling State, the four seed of the regional, while the Cougars and the Wildcats will play as the two and three seeds.

Arkansas is one of eight SEC teams in this year’s tournament and one of four to host sites including: Florida, South Carolina, and Auburn. As a conference, the SEC tied with the ACC and Pac-10 for most teams competing.

The tournament kicks off this Friday with the Hogs taking the field at Baum Stadium at 2:05 p.m. against Grambling. Kansas State and Washington State will play that night at approximately 7:05 p.m. The regional will be played as double-elimination with the winner going on to play the winner of the Arizona State regional.

Tickets can be bought at the Razorback Ticket office with single-game and package plans available.
