Hello and welcome to UATV’s LIVE updates from today’s Arkansas Razorback spring scrimmage at Reynold’s Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville. We thank you for joining us and remember we will be updating today’s posts throughout the game. Be sure to refresh your screen every 2-3 minutes.
6:05 p.m.- The teams are on the field after running through the traditional ‘A,’ and Jeff Long just aired a video message thanking all fans for their support over the jumbo tron.
6:09 p.m.- White team goes three-and-out with Nick Petrino under center.
6:12 p.m.– Both squads go three-and-out to begin the game. Hogs showing why they need Ryan Mallett under center. Couldn’t get anything going with neither Nick Petrino nor Tyler Wilson.
6:18 p.m.– White ball moving the ball well again the Red defense. In the redzone at the 12-yard line.
6:25 p.m.– Razorback fans get their first look at Jacoby Walker under center for the White team. He joined the team at the semester and is part of the 2010 signing class.
6:21 p.m.- The White team is denied at the 10-yard line by the Red defense on 4th down. Red team takes over on downs.
6:30 p.m.- On his first play from scrimmage under center for the Red team, Brandon Mitchell fakes out the whole stadium on the handoff then scampers 88-yards on the left side end-around for a touchdown. Red 7 White 0.
6:34 p.m.- Jacoby Walker hits Lance Wray for 50-yards down the right sideline. Very nice pass by Walker, showing off his arm and he hit Ray in stride for a great catch. First down.
6:35 p.m.- End of the First Quarter Red 7 White 0.
6:41 p.m.- Ronnie Wingo Jr. gets into the endzone from two yards out for the white team and it is now tied. Red 7 White 7.
6:43 p.m.- Brandon Mitchell shows off his arm for a69-yard pass to Greg Childs, then Mitchell runs it in from one-yard out. That is Mitchell’s second rushing touchdown today (88 and one yard respectively). Red 14 White 7.
6:53 p.m.- Bret Harris making an impression on the White defense. We’ve heard his name called a lot today making tackles.
6:58 p.m.-So far, two combined turnovers today one by each team. This one by tight end Austin Tate, and the White team takes over.
7:04 p .m.- Neither team has been able to really get anything going on offense, good secondary coverage by the defenses though.
7:12 p.m.- Jacoby Walker hits Ronnie Wingo down the left sideline in stride for a 31-yard touchdown pass. Walker looks calm in the pocket and is showing a nice arm. However, Alex Tejada missed the PAT. Red 14 White 13.
7:14 p.m.- The Hogs also have a lot of recruits in town and it is being reported by Dudley Dawson from Hawgs Illustrated that Arkansas has gained one new football commit in Noweta (OK) OL Austin Beck.
7:15 p.m.- We’ve reached halftime as the rain comes down hard. Halftime score: Red 14 White 13.
7:41 p.m.- Another great piece of throwing by Jacoby Walker. He hits Jarius Wright for a 47-yard touchdown pass. Two-point conversion is good by the White team: White 21 Red 14.
7:51 p.m.- Tyler Wilson hits Cobi Hamilton for a 44-yard touchdown pass. The game is tied at 21-21 as we head to the 4th quarter.
8:03 p.m.- The rain isn’t letting up at Razorback Stadium, but that doesn’t stop Alex Tejada from nailing a 38-yard field goal dead center. That gives the White team a slight advantage: White 24 Red 21.
