Students flee to the beach for a little warm weather during spring break, but this year they’re escaping snow. A rain/sleet mix has been falling for most of the day and around 6 p.m. that changed over to snow. About one inch has accumulated in Northwest Arkansas and two more are expected by midnight. The area should see a three to four hour break in snowfall after midnight, but that’s not the end of it. The storm is expected to intensify greatly and spark back up at 4 a.m. Sunday morning. By Sunday afternoon the snow will switch back over to rain. Here in Northwest Arkansas we should see a total of four to eight inches of snowfall.
