The Hogs traveled to Baton Rouge to open up SEC play against the defending national champions. Arkansas won game 1 of the series 6-3 after 3 different 2-run home-runs. Brett Eibner hit a pair of those home-runs, including a towering shot off of the scoreboard in left field. Mike Bolsinger got the start for Arkansas and settled down after giving up a two-run homer in the second. Bolsinger ended up pitching seven innings. Andy Wilkins was the other Hog to homer. He hit a two-run shot to tie the game in the fourth inning.
Freshman D.J. Baxendale finished the game on the mound for the Razorbacks with two-innings and two strikeouts. The Hogs go for the series win tomorrow. First pitch is at 3 p.m.
