Gov. Beebe issues a veto and a former Razorback is taken into custody on sex trafficing charges.

On Campus

Two men were arrested on campus over the weekend. One for public intoxication and criminal trespassing and the other for DWI.

Former NBA star and Razorback basketball player Alvin Robertson has been taken into custody on sex assault of a child and sex trafficking charges.

U of A transit and parking is looking at requiring night parking passes on campus. ASG says they have no official position  yet, but it is not likely they will support this.

In Northwest Arkansas

A red flag burn warning has been issued for Washington county due to dry and windy conditions.

The U.S. Supreme Court declined to decide on a public ten commandments display in Haskell County, Oklahoma.  Because the  court did not rule, a lower court ruling that says the display must go will be upheld.

Arkansas Governor Mike has vetoed a portion of the budget that would have been used to pay for redistricting.

Arkansas Lieutenant Governor Bill Halter announced today that he would seek the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate seat held by Blanche Lincoln.

Western Europe is trying to recover from a violent storm that struck this week.  The storm ravaged at least six countries. The storm Xynthia was an extra-tropic cyclone.

The death toll for an earthquake that shook Chile this weekend stands at 708.  It was the strongest in 100 years to hit the country.

Four NATO service-members died earlier today in separate attacks across Afghanistan.

Sports

The Razorback basketball team had a tough weekend against Vanderbilt with 89-72 loss.

The 16th ranked Hogs relied on the young arm of freshman D.J. Baxendale to get two saves, as the team swept the Troy Trojans. The Diamond Hogs take on Kansas Tuesday and travel to California to take on the Bruins this weekend.

The SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships were held at the Tyson Track Center this past weekend. The men kept the title in Fayetteville, as they came from behind to defeat the Florida Gators for their sixth consecutive conference title.
