Eight former University of Arkansas standout student-athletes were inducted into the 2009 Arkansas Sports Hall of Honor in September. The event, held at the Springdale Holiday Inn, was a sell-out with over 900 tickets sold.
UATV was lucky enough to get a copy of the Induction Ceremony and will air the event in its entirety Sunday night at 7pm on UATV 14 in Northwest Arkansas and streaming across the world on UATVonline.net.
The list of the 2009 inductees includes:
Shawn Andrews, the first sophomore first-team football All-American in school history.
Ron Calcagni, the winningest quarterback in school history.
Dr. Jim Counce, the assists leader on the 1978 Final Four basketball team.
Tom Pucci, former tennis coach who led his teams to three NCAA Elite Eight and three Sweet 16 finishes.
Veronica Campbell-Brown, a two-time Olympic gold medalist.
Richard Bell, former Razorback player and South Carolina head football coach.
Billy Joe Moody, NFL and AFL draft pick.
Alistair Cragg, seven-time NCAA champion.
They were elected to the UA Sports Hall of Honor by a vote of former letterwinners in conjunction with the “A” Club.
