UA Student Arrested for Video Voyeurism in Pomfret Hall

LeiaBrently Washington, 19 of Forrest City, was caught videotaping another male student in the shower at Pomfret Hall Friday. UAPD confiscated Washington’s cell phone and camera and found multiple videos of other male students showering in the public restrooms of Pomfret Hall.

According to the arrest report, the male victim told police he was showering in the third floor bathroom in Pomfret Hall, when he noticed he was being videotaped underneath the shower wall from an adjacent shower. Washington was arrested and then released on $2,500 bond. Washington was placed under interim suspension by the University of Arkansas and has been removed from Pomfret Hall.

Students who feel they may have been victims of this crime may contact UAPD by email or stop by the station located on Razorback Road. Students are also encouraged to contact Counseling and Psychological Services, the Dean of Students Office, and/or University Housing staff for more assistance.

This is the second event in the past month at Pomfret Hall. Mid-November, freshman Joseph Hutchins was arrested for allegedly running a drug lab and manufacturing ecstasy from his dorm room in Pomfret Hall.
